Labor Day 2018, Friendswood residents are invited to step back in time for the 3rd Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social sponsored and hosted by Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association (FDFA), Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB) and the Friendswood Historical Society. Volunteers will be serving ice cream, cookies, lemonade & root beer to a nostalgic feeling crowd, while they visit with old friends and meet new ones too. Enjoy cool treats and hear live music by the Wild River Trio at the Stevenson Park Gazebo!

In addition to the Ice Cream Social, this year we will be including a special Harvey Remembrance Event to mark the one year anniversary of the devastation our community experienced and how it ultimately brought us all closer than ever before.  With neighbor helping neighbor, we saw a side of our community that none could have imagined. And on this anniversary, we want to take time to remember those moments, and remind each other of the hope and support that some gave and some received, just when they needed it most. We will be Celebrating our Community Spirit as we are Friendswood Stronger.

Join us as we hear from Mayor Foreman and other community leaders on what makes us Friendswood Stronger. We will also have a “Harvey Release” moment with the releasing of bubbles. We hope you can join us for this very special event.

Lawn chairs and blankets encouraged.
